I wanted to take a few minutes to let you know how pleased I am with the professionalism and attitude one of your trainers, Derek Ford. I am an employee of Crouse Hospital and work with Derek about 2 days a week at the CNY Medical Center facility. I have never worked with a personal trainer until Derek. Making the commitment to work with a personal trainer was not an easy decision for me to make, however, since working with Derek, I know it was absolutely the right decision. Derek brings a very positive attitude to his position and encourages those who train under him to maintain the same attitude. Too often clients are quick to let a business know when something is not working. I wanted to take the time to let you know that Personal Fitness is fortunate to have Derek as an employee. Every women dreams of looking perfect on her wedding day and I was no different. I started at personal fitness 8 months before the big day, convinced that I could whip myself into shape all by myself. I started noticing all of the personal training going on and everybody’s results but thought I could do it all on my own. I then started taking boot camp at the gym and was shocked at how out of shape I really was. I couldn’t even move the next day. Even though I wasn't training with Tony he went out of his way to help me and encourage me to keep working. I lost 10 pounds when I started boot camp and then finally I broke and signed up with Tony to have him help me. I used to never think I could have the body I always dreamed about but because of Tony and the staff at personal fitness it is coming true. I am in the best shape of my life and the wedding pictures prove it! My heartfelt thanks for all of the motivation and pushing from the entire staff but most importantly to Tony, the best trainer in Syracuse, for never giving up on me!

One year ago...I was a skeptic! I was one of the people who believed, "why would anyone need a personal trainer?" But one year ago I was overweight, out of shape, and I wasn't making any gains on my own. I couldn't run a mile, or even run for 5 minutes, and this was after months of trying to do so on my own.
Today...I honestly believe that getting a personal trainer was the best thing I have ever done!
I have lost 107 lbs, but I am more proud of my physical accomplishments.
I can run 3 miles, which is something I could never do before.
I have doubled my strength, and I also take Boot Camp classes where I can finally run the steps!
At Personal Fitness I received the support and encouragement I needed! I am the biggest supporter of Personal Trainers. Within one month of training with Tony I ran my first mile and will never forget how that felt. He pushed me farther then I ever would have pushed myself and the results have been amazing! For that I will be forever thankful!

I started my journey 4 years ago after I injured my shoulder. It was recommended that I exercise my shoulder to build strength back after the injury. My thought was why not the whole body? Why stop or limit my exercise to just my arm? Walnut version is I jumped in with both feet and arms and invested 5 months of 4 days a week to aerobics and strength building and lost 15 lbs and dropped 3 sizes. Life has a way of repeating itself. I transferred to a new job position where I do more sitting and yes you know where I am going with this, the pounds seem to creep back on. Not all of them but enough to take action. I started at personal fitness last September with just cardio but needed a boost to help me take it to the next level. Here is where Derek comes into play. He over time knew how to push me, when to push me to reach my optimal levels. I am now 10 pounds lighter and much stronger. I have also invested in an elliptical to use at my home in conjunction with the gym. My goal every day is to get at least 45 minutes of good heart pumping cardio. I have found it helps me sleep better, work better, and my attitude is great!! I even got my family into doing some form of cardio 3-4 days a week. For this I am excited!! I also got involved in the biggest loser recently and what a group we had. We all encouraged each other on our bad days and supported one another on our great days! I even learned what foods we all should avoid to some extend and why. Eating right is as important as exercising. You can’t dump bad food into the body and expect it to function at optimal. It was a great team. I have incorporated exercise into my everyday work patterns.

Dennis has been my Personal trainer at Personal Fitness for approximately 10 years and the reason I continue to come here. My trainer builds variety into my exercise routine so it is never dull. If you have joint or muscular related problems the trainers at Personal Fitness know how to make it right again. It is also a pleasant social experience. I see all of my friends and local leaders. The facility is always clean. All of the other trainers are equally wonderful and capable. My daughter and wife both come here. Everyone I have referred here has thanked me.

I have been a member of Personal Fitness since it was established in 1995.After working out in numerous gyms in the Syracuse area and trying all the FAD diets available, I was introduced to Personal Fitness. From day one I was impressed with the professionalism, knowledge & caring of the personal trainers. Recently, I had x-rays taken of my back and the results compared to 10 years ago showed minimal arthritis. The doctors all agree it has been my consistent weight training, cardio etc. at Personal Fitness. I had a full hip replacement in November of 2003. I was very worried about being able to coach football and racquetball as I was worried about the demand of being on my feet for long hours. In February of 2004 I began rehabilitating with PFP fitness and training with Dennis Dewane and Randy Sabourin. I was able to resume coaching by June of 2004.
I coached a week long Racquetball camp in July of 2004 and even went fly fishing for three days in the mountain streams of Colorado. I was able to meet the rigorous demands of coaching thanks to the efforts of the trainers at PFP fitness.
